I am an associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computing Engineering at ESPOL, in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

I recently finished a postdoc at the University of Calgary and Simon Fraser University, in Canada, where I worked on novel approaches to visualization authoring and interaction techniques.

As part of my previous research at the University of St Andrews, I designed and developed iVoLVER, a tool that allows users to create visualizations using many types of data without textual programming.

I am proficient in several programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, and JavaScript) and have experience with digital image processing and computer vision. My skills also include designing visual interfaces and widgets, and qualitative experimental design.
